Just don’t ask.
Don’t ask me, if I’ve melted the chocolate in a double boiler (in Germany known as Wasserbad).
It’s late in the evening and I wanted to be quick.
But from now on, things change:
I won’t remember any more that there was a recipe where you could melt butter and chocolate together without the double boiler method. Only if I know the exact relations between butter and chocolate. I suppose, in my case it was too much chocolate for the poor butter.
Hoever I was lucky, I still had some chocolate in the cupboard (well, it’s Saturday night, where can you get chocolate in Germany, if you want to finish the cake until sunday??) – I mean grated chocolate that I had bought for Xmas-cookies and that I haven’t needed. However, the grated chocolate has got one piece as I had put it – coming home and getting the groceries out of my bag – on the stovetop (to put the things away then) – not noticing that I just had switched on the oven and that chocolate doesn’t like it if it’s too warm. Then there was a phone call and I forgot about the groceries.
To put it in a nutshell: chocolate and I are good friends. But not in the kitchen. Just if I eat it…
